i got filtered hard, had my save deleted via that wonderful game "mechanic", got filtered again, but i didn't want to quit until i finished the game. i'm glad i got to the end! the card tricks are clean simple fun, the game itself is beautiful and has a great art style. i loved how it was set in 18th century france, it's so colourful. it's a bit clunky playing on controller at times but oh well. overall i enjoyed it; it's not perfect, and it can get frustrating, but for a game this short it's packed with interesting mechanics and you can tell it was made by someone who really likes card tricks and french history.read more
i've been waiting for this game to release for months and it's what i expected it to be. it uses the same engine as DBZ: kakarot, so the art style is familiar and pretty, matches are very quick and the matchmaking itself is even quicker. this allows you to sort of drop in and drop out way more than other MOBAs do. i hope they continue to work on this game and don't abandon it because it has a lot more potential for fast and casual fun. one aspect that i really enjoy is that it feels less stressful than league does. any dragon ball fan that is also interested in casual or MOBA type games should try this!read more
i don't know how to start this review. i'll just say that in most aspects, mankind divided is a good sequel to human revolution. the entire prague portion of the game is perfected and complete; nothing is out of place, unfinished, or unfitting, other than maybe a few loose ends narratively here and there, but that has more to do with further implications down the line in the story. this game offers new perspectives and themes that we have not yet seen in deus ex; if deus ex (2000) was more open-endedly philosophic, and human revolution was more direct, then mankind divided was certainly a sledgehammer of directness in that sense.read more

before playing this game, i was apprehensive if it could follow up deus ex (2000) and live up to the expectations i had set in my own head. the first game evokes very many specific feelings, and was overall a unique experience that's hard to beat or replicate. thankfully, i think human revolution has done a good job of coming close to that, and i'm happy that i played it. the deciding factor in whether or not i would like this game came down to whether it would "feel" like deus ex, or not. i think this is about as good as it gets for a sequel made without anyone from the original team.read more

i'm not typically into first person games, but i'm glad i finally got around to trying deus ex. the gameplay is so dynamic and rewarding, especially completing missions with as much stealth as possible. i'd never really thought about these types of games before, but this game made me want to play through the metal gear solid series, which is a feat in of itself, considering i had zero interest in them before.read more

elizabeth describes the rhythms of the seasons with a mix of humour, honesty, and longing for solitude. she is happiest outside, immersed in the changing life of her flowers, far away from the endless social obligations and shallow chatter she so often mocks. she pokes fun at “the man of wrath”, her husband, whose firm and dismissive attitude toward her garden only makes her own passion for it shine brighter.

what really struck me is how ahead of her time she feels. she wants independence, space to think, and the ability to enjoy beauty without apology. her wit can be sharp, even sarcastic, but there’s always warmth underneath. she is not perfect; at times she is judgemental and prejudiced, but through her words you sense her constant negotiation between duty, nature, and selfhood. it felt like sitting beside her in a chair on the lawn, listening to her musings as the year passes by.
